About the role

Windmoor Healthcare of Clearwater is a 144-bed psychiatric hospital specializing in acute psychiatric and substance abuse treatment for adults 18 and older. The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide primary care coordination and implement collaborative care plans under physician and treatment team guidance.

Responsibilities

• Perform mental health assessments and develop nursing diagnoses
• Identify patient outcomes, plan, and evaluate nursing care
• Administer and monitor effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician
• Ensure safety and provide consistent therapeutic milieu management
• Implement crisis intervention strategies

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility preferred
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida
• BLS certification
• CPR certification
• Successful completion of restraining procedures training within 30 days of employment
• Understanding of The Joint Commission (TJC), AHCA, OSHA and applicable state and federal regulatory requirements

• Move efficiently to meet the needs of multiple patients or rapidly intervene in patient aggression
• Stand, sit, and walk during work shift
• Hear spoken words in a normal vocal range; respond to signals, alarms, codes or other displays; recognize vocal intonation signaling changes in acuity
• Bend, reach, and stoop
• Write legibly to accurately convey information
• Read instructions and complete documentation and reports
• Restrain, as part of a team, an aggressive patient in a safe and therapeutic manner
• Lift, position, or move patients to perform searches and procedures or administer injections
• Perform activities requiring manual dexterity
• Lift up to 30 lbs.
