ADMISSIONS REP - MAIN LOBBY (Float)

Texoma Medical Center, a 414-bed acute care facility, has been providing quality health care to the residents of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1965. Our main campus is located in Denison, Texas, approximately one hour north of the Dallas/Fort Worth area and just south of the Texas/Oklahoma border. We offer major specialty services including open heart surgery and neurosurgery, supported by advanced resources such as certified trauma care.

About the Role

Performs Pre-Admission and Admission services for all patients across the hospital. Correctly identifies patients and maintains accurate information within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Collects financial information, including payments from patients or guarantors, and obtains insurance details, benefits, and authorizations for services. Calculates insurance co-payments, deductibles, and collects financial responsibility due at admission or discharge. Secures medical and financial consents, obtains required signatures, and provides patients with information regarding Patient Rights, Privacy, and Advance Care Directives.

Responsibilities

• Calculate and collect insurance co-payments, deductibles, and patient financial responsibilities.
• Secure medical and financial consents and obtain required signatures on documents.
• Provide patients with information on Patient Rights, Privacy, and Advance Care Directives.

Requirements

• Reading and numerical competency.
• Minimum of 6 months of general public contact (in person or by phone), preferably in a healthcare or healthcare insurance setting.
• Ability to handle detailed work accurately and rapidly.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with coworkers and other departments.
• Good listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle high-stress situations effectively.
• Basic computer and internet experience.
