Admissions Counselor II

Grade 6 (Hourly) position based in New Jersey, working remotely from a home office with frequent travel, including evenings and weekends. Periodic travel to the Belknap Campus in Louisville is required for training, staff meetings, and recruitment events.

Responsibilities

• Visit high schools and participate in college fairs.
• Advise and counsel prospective students and their families.
• Review and render admission decisions for undergraduate applications.
• Participate in outreach initiatives to expand the pool of prospective students.
• Maintain active membership in local and regional admissions organizations.
• Plan and coordinate recruitment activities throughout the assigned territory.
• Deliver engaging presentations and public speaking engagements.
• Collaborate with alumni, affiliate organizations, academic departments, high school counselors, and community college staff to cultivate and maintain strong professional relationships.
• Manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Basic technology proficiency (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and work effectively from a remote location.
• Must live in the New Jersey area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Slate or another CRM system.
• Experience with PeopleSoft.
• Background in admission, enrollment, education, or higher education.

Pay

Target compensation range: $27.86 – $41.81 per hour, commensurate with candidate experience.
