About the role
The Admissions Counselor navigates new and returning students through OSUIT's admission and enrollment processes. The Counselor reviews all information provided to determine eligibility for admission and then makes decisions accordingly. Additional assistance is provided to students choosing their program/major and subsequent course enrollment.
Responsibilities
- Navigate new and returning students through OSUIT's admission and enrollment processes.
- Determine eligibility for admission and make decisions accordingly.
- Provide additional assistance to students choosing their program/major and subsequent course enrollment.
Requirements
- Associate Degree from an accredited college or university required.
- Previous work experience in a college admissions office or related field.
- Experience managing and maintaining records through the utilization of databases and/or electronic communication tools.
- A valid driver’s license is required if performing the functions of the position requires the use of a personal or university vehicle.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree from an accredited college or university required.
- Other combinations of education and relative experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- High degree of integrity; ability to work in a sensitive, highly confidential and professional environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate diplomatically, clearly, and effectively, both verbally and in writing to exchange information, give/receive instructions and respond to inquiries appropriately with all students, faculty, staff and community partners.
- Accurate typing/data entry skills and demonstrated ability to work with attention to detail.
- Basic math functions.
- Speaking in front of students.
- Passion for assisting students with educational endeavors and representing the OSUIT and OSU brand with positivity and professionalism.
- Demonstrated history of ethical and professional behavior.

Hiring Range
$16.17 - $16.17 Hourly
Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm with occasional evenings and weekends.
Appointment Length
