Admissions Application Reviewer

About the role

The Part-Time Admissions Application Reviewer supports the admissions team at Kansas Health Science University–Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine (KHSU–KansasCOM) in evaluating medical school applications holistically.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive reviews of student applications to assess academic preparedness and potential for success in the osteopathic medical school program.
• Evaluate and assess fit based on transcripts, essays, letters of recommendation, MCAT, level of medical experience, extracurricular and leadership experiences, and community engagement.
• Maintain objective, mission-centered review practices in accordance with institutional policies.
• Collaborate with admissions staff and fellow reviewers to maintain consistency and integrity in evaluation standards.
• Avoid inaccuracies in documentation of all reviews and evaluation outcomes.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with institutional, legal, and accreditation guidelines.
• Aid in compiling reports or summaries related to admissions metrics, if needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Prior experience in admissions, education, or academic advising is preferred.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent reading comprehension and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.
• Comfortable working with digital application systems and managing sensitive data.
