About the role
This temporary position provides seasonal support for undergraduate recruitment and application review during peak admission cycles. Serve as a representative of the University of Rhode Island by recruiting prospective students through on- and off-campus recruitment activities and by reviewing undergraduate applications for admission. Evaluate applicants in accordance with university admission policies and make admission decisions.
Responsibilities
- Represent the University at high school visits, college fairs, and recruitment events throughout assigned territories.
- Conduct presentations and communicate admission requirements, academic programs, and student opportunities to prospective students, families, and school counselors.
- Review undergraduate applications and supporting credentials to determine admission decisions in accordance with university policies and established review guidelines.
- Travel and work evenings and weekends as required to support recruitment activities.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Demonstrated verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate information and make sound decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office or comparable software applications.
- Demonstrated ability to lift and transport recruitment materials weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Willingness to travel extensively and work evenings and weekends as required.
Licenses, Tools And Equipment
- Personal computers, printers; word processing, database management and spreadsheet software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Environmental conditions are not substantially adverse.
This is a temporary, full-time position for Fall 2026, 24 weeks, 35 hours per week. The hourly pay range is $28.84 – $31.25. The role is located in Kingston, RI.
