Admission Director

About the role

As the Admission Director you are responsible for developing census and quality mix by providing prospective patients and/or responsible parties with appropriate information and assistance to the nursing center. You will collaborate with the administrator and other department heads to create and conduct purposeful marketing for the facility.

Responsibilities

• Conduct the admission process, including signing in and explaining admission policies to patients and their families.
• Ensure a smooth transition and that all paperwork is complete upon admission.
• Emphasize financial arrangements and responsibilities.
• Ensure financial verification is accurate and complete before the patient is admitted to the facility to assist in reducing accounts receivable.
• Handle walk-in or telephone inquiries and invite referral sources to the nursing center.
• Follow up on inquiries by conducting tours of the center, completing inquiry electronic systems for admissions, and providing patient’s families with brochures about nursing homes, Medicare facts, and room rates.

Requirements

• College degree preferred.
• Sales experience, particularly in health care services, products, or pharmaceuticals, is desirable.
• Familiarity with long-term care and/or health care services is useful.
• Presents a professional image through appearance, behavior, and speech.
