About the role
Direct the day-to-day functions of the facility in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern nursing facilities to assure the highest degree of quality care is provided to residents at all times.
Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the facility’s programs and activities in accordance with guidelines issued by the governing board. Assist department directors in the development, use, and implementation of departmental policies and procedures and professional standards of practice.
Ensure all personnel with access to protected health information receive appropriate and timely training on the facility’s policies and procedures governing the management and control of such information. Assume administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability for directing the activities and programs of the facility.
Meet with department directors on a regularly scheduled basis, conduct and participate in in-service classes, and supervisory-level training programs. Ensure all facility personnel, residents, and visitors follow established safety regulations, including fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, and infection control.
Authorize the purchase of major equipment and supplies in accordance with established purchasing policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (required); degree in Public Health Administration, Business Administration, or a health-related field (preferred).
- Minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a hospital or nursing facility.
- Current, unencumbered Nursing Home Administrator’s license or eligibility to meet the licensure requirements of the state.
