Administrative Trainee

About the role

The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch is seeking an Administrative Trainee for the Court Support Services Division. The successful candidate will provide technical assistance and training to CSSD staff and contracted program employees on the CJIS (Criminal Justice Information System) training platform. Document and report annual training accomplishments. Analyze and upload training content to the Learning Management System (LMS). Conduct criminal history background checks and fingerprinting in accordance with CJIS requirements. Oversee NCIC validation activities and maintain certification records. Ensure compliance with applicable CJIS, NCIC, and agency training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable CJIS, NCIC, and agency training requirements.

Requirements

• Considerable knowledge of CSSD CJIS policies and procedures.
• Considerable knowledge of FBI CJIS Security Policy and related procedures.
• Considerable knowledge of LMS and online training administration.
• Proficient skills in MS Office applications.
• Able to interpret and apply CJIS Security Policy, NCIC requirements, and agency directives.
• Able to maintain confidentiality and safeguard CJIS information.
• Able to communicate accurately and effectively in written and verbal form.
• A valid motor vehicle operators license for required business-use travel statewide via the candidates own car, or a State-owned car if available.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferred candidates possess considerable knowledge of CSSD CJIS policies and procedures.
• Preferred candidates possess considerable knowledge of FBI CJIS Security Policy and related procedures.
• Preferred candidates possess considerable knowledge of LMS and online training administration.
• Preferred candidates possess proficient skills in MS Office applications.
• Preferred candidates are able to interpret and apply CJIS Security Policy, NCIC requirements, and agency directives.
• Preferred candidates are able to maintain confidentiality and safeguard CJIS information.
• Preferred candidates are able to communicate accurately and effectively in written and verbal form.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's or a Master's degree.
• Note: Incumbents with a Master's degree may be hired at step 2 of the pay group.

Pay

Salary Range: $69,928 - $90,127/year plus State of Connecticut benefits. New employees begin at the minimum. The starting salary for existing state employees may be higher than the minimum, in accordance with existing Judicial Branch policy.

Experience and Training

• Minimum qualifications required: A Bachelor's or a Master's degree.
