About the role

This position is a mid-level specialized support position performing administrative functions for the operation of the State Tax Commission. Primary duties include human resources/payroll related functions such as processing all SAM II transactions and deductions; assisting the Administrative Secretary with policy development and implementation; new hire orientation; maintenance of all personnel records; and updating all necessary spreadsheets and other payroll related documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Processing all SAM II transactions and deductions
  • Auxiliary assistance to the Administrative Secretary with policy development and implementation
  • New hire orientation
  • Maintenance of all personnel records
  • Updating all necessary spreadsheets and other payroll related documentation
  • Assisting with MOVERS tasks and agency readiness for system implementation (financial and HR)
  • Assistance with various administrative functions of the agency
  • Completion of special projects for other sections within the agency

Requirements

  • Considerable knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment
  • Ability to apply and interpret agency policies and procedures
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports
  • Audit and review data and other information for accuracy
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Highly organized
  • Great attention to detail
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products
  • Proficiency in SAM II HR system
  • Familiarity with financial functions is preferred
