Administrative Specialist Pathology PRN
General Summary and Purpose
Performs a variety of duties to support administration of the assigned department.
Skills, Knowledge, Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years of relevant administrative experience within a Lab required.
- Experience with process improvement or lean philosophy preferred.
Essential Functions
- Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
- Composes, types and transcribes correspondence, forms, reports, presentation materials and other written communications as required.
- Screens visitors and telephone calls and handles general inquiries.
- Schedules / coordinates meetings, conferences, special events, appointments and travel arrangements. Maintains assigned calendar(s).
- Orders and stocks supplies.
- Affords assistance with special projects and interdepartmental needs when appropriate.
Qualifications
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Requires demonstrated proficiency in multi-tasking, flexibility, time management, organization, attention to detail and professionalism.
- Must be able to work equally well independently and in a team environment.
- Requires intermediate computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office applications.
