About the Role

The Administrative Officer directs and coordinates all administrative functions within the J1, ensuring subordinate divisions and offices comply with applicable policies and procedures. This role involves comprehensive personnel management within the operations section of J1 and maintaining the Principal J1’s personal and sensitive daily and long-range calendars. The incumbent serves as a central figure in the Travel Integrated Process Team, assisting with travel arrangements for frequent and prolonged travel. Additionally, the role acts as a liaison between the J1 and subordinate offices, facilitating communication, scheduling briefings, and transmitting instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate all administrative functions within the J1, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Administer all aspects of personnel management for the operations section of J1.
  • Maintain the Principal J1’s personal and sensitive daily and long-range calendars and events.
  • Serve as a key member of the Travel Integrated Process Team, making necessary travel arrangements for the J1.
  • Act as a liaison between the J1 and subordinate offices, relaying information, scheduling briefings, and transmitting instructions.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET SCI clearance as a condition of employment, including completion of a counterintelligence scope polygraph exam.
  • This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP); employee must pass initial and periodic random drug testing.
  • May be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft for temporary duty assignments.
  • Must meet NSA personnel security requirements outlined in NSA/CSS Policy 5-1.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • This position requires a 3-year probationary period.
  • Direct Deposit of Pay is required.

Qualifications

To qualify based on experience, your resume must describe specialized experience demonstrating the following:

  • Coordinating administrative functions in compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
  • Managing all aspects of personnel administration for leadership.
  • Scheduling daily personal/sensitive and calendar events.

Education may not substitute for experience in this role.

Pay

Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances may be authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations and an agency determination that a PCS move is in the Government Interest.
