About the role
The Administrative Manager oversees major functions of the admissions operations unit, including the rendering of admissions decisions, determining student residency, and maintaining records. They supervise professional, student, and limited-term staff engaged in application review.
Responsibilities
- Oversee admissions operations unit, including admissions decisions, residency determination, and record maintenance
- Serve as a member of and work collaboratively with the operations leadership team
- Manage error reports and oversee the correction of Central Data Requests for the department
- Coordinate, carry out, or assist with special projects and activities as assigned
Requirements
- May assist in the development and monitoring of the unit or program budget and approve unit expenditures
- Plans, implements, executes, and evaluates existing strategies and objectives for a program and makes recommendations to unit leadership for program or function enhancement
- Schedules logistics and secures resources for program activities across multiple work units to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures, and specifications
- Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees
- Contributes to the preparation of proposals for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors
- Identifies workflow needs, contributes to the development of strategic and operational solutions, allocates resources, and implements new or revised unit operational policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (granted by date of hire)
- Experience in a higher education setting
- Experience supervising staff
Skills
- Evidence of excellent verbal and written communication skills, as evidenced by application materials and interviews
- Evidence of strong analytical skills
