Description Duties

The Hearing Officer 1 (Human Rights) is a hybrid position, offering the flexibility of remote work, but travel may be required. This will be discussed in greater detail at the time of the interview.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Non-Competitive candidates must be admitted to the New York State Bar and have four years of subsequent full-time legal experience engaged in the promotion and protection of human or civil rights under the New York State Human Rights Law (or related federal, state or local anti-discrimination laws), and involved in the conduct of trials or adversary proceedings, judicial or quasi-judicial, before a court of record or governmental agency.

Pay

This position is eligible for additional $4000 location pay. Salaries are non-negotiable. Candidates with no previous state service will begin at the starting rate of the posted salary range.
