This program offers distinctive tracks tailored to provide deep expertise and leadership development in specific regions or functional areas.

About the Fellowship

This fellowship has an anticipated start date in July 2027 and is designed to prepare fellows to make a significant impact on clinical operations, strategy, and quality across CommonSpirit Health’s enterprise. The program includes tailored tracks for specific regions or functional focuses:

  • Central Region, Upper Central Region, Omaha NE: Focus on integrating into physician enterprise leadership and operational teams to advance strategic projects and foster academic relationships. Fellows will contribute to senior leadership discussions, drive key projects across standardization and technology, and navigate the relationship between academics and medical group operations.
  • California Region, Central Coast Market, Santa Maria CA: Focus on cultivating next-generation Physician Enterprise leaders and enhancing strategic execution across California’s diverse footprint. Fellows will demonstrate leadership in strategic project management, deliver operational analyses, and engage with leaders to address market-specific imperatives.
  • Physician Enterprise Quality, Remote: Focus on driving impactful quality and safety initiatives and developing clinical standards across the enterprise. Fellows will lead physician councils, influence executive leaders, and present measurable contributions to elevate system-wide clinical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead meaningful projects that support CommonSpirit Health’s goals.
  • Work closely with executive sponsors to guide your rotations.
  • Customize your professional development through conferences, memberships, certifications, and more via a designated Fellow budget.
  • Hone management, decision-making, and change management abilities.
  • Build relationships with leaders and peers through mentorship and networking.
  • Gain hands-on experience in optimizing physician clinic operations, implementing value-based care initiatives, and enhancing patient engagement through digital solutions.
  • Drive overall network performance to improve patient outcomes, reduce costs, and ensure high-quality healthcare experiences.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in one of the following from an accredited graduate program:
    • Master of Health Administration (MHA)
    • Master of Business Administration (MBA)
    • Master of Public Health (MPH)
    • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
    • Or equivalent degree
  • Completion of all on-campus requirements and eligibility to graduate upon fellowship completion.
  • Must have graduated with an applicable Master’s degree between Spring 2024 and Spring 2028.
  • Less than 5 years of professional experience.
  • Strong interest in healthcare management and leadership.
  • Passion for CommonSpirit Health’s mission and a commitment to "humankindness."
