Day Kimball Health is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our Sleep Disorder Center in Putnam, Connecticut. This is a full-time, non-exempt position working 40 hours per week on the day shift.

About the Role

Performs and provides clerical and administrative support for the supervisor and the director of the Sleep Disorder Center. Provides support to the Sleep Center, EEG, EMG, and physicians as needed. Plans, establishes, and maintains office clerical procedures, record keeping, pre-certifies patient insurances, and filing systems as required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs and provides clerical and administrative support for the supervisor and director of the Sleep Disorder Center, as well as physicians as needed.
  • Establishes and maintains Sleep Disorder Center record keeping, filing systems, and supplies.
  • Types medical transcription for Sleep M.D.
  • Manages communication flow of the Sleep Disorder Center and department.
  • Pre-certs insurance and schedules patients for Sleep Disorder testing.
  • Faxes and mails computer reports to physicians.
  • Demonstrates ability to plan and organize flow of information into and out of the department.
  • Maintains a strict level of confidentiality in all matters.
  • Prioritizes tasks and manages multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Insurance pre-certification experience preferred.
  • Medical terminology and transcription preferred.
  • Word processing experience preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge in mathematics required.
  • Mainframe, personal computer, word processing, and database competencies preferred.

Skills

  • Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent telephone techniques.
  • Demonstrates competency with computer systems, including mainframe, personal computer, word processing, and database.
