About the role
This position serves as an Administrative Assistant–Paralegal for the Indiana Supreme Court, providing general administrative support to the Chief Justice, the Associate Justices, and the Supreme Court Services staff attorneys. The role supports and enhances the workflow of the Supreme Court Services staff attorneys by completing tasks essential to case processing and assisting with general administrative requests. It also assists the Chief Justice and Associate Justices by planning and preparing case conferences and oral arguments.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and process case filings, motions, and other matters filed with the Supreme Court
- Coordinate with the Appellate Clerk on case processing and scheduling matters
- Assist with scheduling and preparing for Supreme Court oral arguments and other Court events
- Draft and process routine orders on transfer and oral argument
- Process attorney-drafted Court orders and transmit to the Appellate Clerk
- Draft conference agendas and maintain the electronic agenda and case materials on the Judicial Dashboard
- Maintain statistical data used to prepare monthly and annual reports
- Maintain the Court’s calendar
- Additional duties as assigned
