Administrative Assistant I, Student Wellness Center

Supports the operations and staff of the Student Wellness Center and all students to ensure their success while attending Cameron. Reports to the Director of the Student Wellness Center.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Director and general office operations, including greeting and screening visitors, scheduling appointments, answering phone calls and emails, relaying messages, and resolving issues with medical and counseling referrals.
  • Manage and maintain clerical and organizational duties, including inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain efficient filing systems and databases for administrative areas.
  • Provide medical assistance to students and staff for non-emergent needs.
  • Perform tasks to maintain financial records and accounts, including preparing requisitions, processing invoices, credit card documentation, and assisting with reconciling monthly office budgets and purchasing card receipts.
  • Serve as the office manager to ensure the office runs efficiently and is organized.
  • Act as the liaison between the Student Wellness Center and other departments while maintaining connections with administrative staff.
  • Prepare, proofread, and maintain office documents, including correspondence, reports, schedules, inventory, and other materials.
  • Respond to inquiries about office services and refer students to appropriate resources, including vision, dental, STD care, and other community resources.
  • Ensure all students complete and submit required paperwork for all services offered by the office.
  • Assist in developing, coordinating, and facilitating special office events.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality at all times.
  • Serve on University committees as assigned.
  • Serve as the content manager for the departmental webpage and Facebook.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned or directed.

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • One year of administrative experience.
  • Budgeting and reconciliation experience.
  • Organizational and computer skills.
  • Conscientious, punctual, and able to work proactively.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Ability to professionally coordinate additional services with community providers.
  • Thorough knowledge of spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Demonstrated expertise in database software, complex web-based computer programs, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidential records and handle complex issues diplomatically and efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in any field.
  • Experience working in a mental health or medical field.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain an efficient office for a medium-level director collaborating with deans, faculty, administrative offices, community leaders, students, and parents.
  • Related experience at an institution of higher education.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift objects under 15 pounds.
  • Ability to reach, including extending the arm and hand.
  • Ability to stand for short or extended periods of time.
  • Ability to engage in repetitive motions, including finger dexterity.
  • Ability to speak, hear, and see.
  • Ability to crouch, climb, and walk stairs.

Pay

$24,500.00
