Job Summary
Towson University (TU) seeks an Administrative Assistant 1 to provide administrative support in the Office for Social Impact. The role involves supporting professional staff, graduate assistants, and student staff, managing budgets, and coordinating office operations.
Responsibilities
- Welcomes visitors and reserves meeting and event spaces.
- Manages purchases, prepares and submits invoices, manages contracts, and creates requisitions and purchase orders.
- Serves as the cost center manager for purchases.
- Captures and coordinates office management activities, including building/maintenance repairs, work order requests, and IT issues.
- Serves as the departmental key coordinator and phone coordinator.
- Supports marketing and communication efforts, including website updates, content creation, and event posts.
- Orders and maintains supplies and materials.
- Aids in recruitment and hiring processes, including onboarding and separation procedures.
- Performs other administrative and clerical duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or GED with two years of administrative support experience.
- General knowledge of office practices and procedures.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proficiency in various computer software packages.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to obtain university van driver clearance.
Salary and Benefits
