Location: Sandy, UT • Duration: 6 months • Hours: 40/week • Employment type: Contract on W2 (US Citizens, GC holders, GC EAD, OPT, EAD, or CPT only)

About the role

Shift scheduler responsible for staffing a medical-device manufacturing operation. Activities include scheduling regular time, overtime sign-ups, time-off, and shift exchanges between shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage time-off requests and scheduling.
  • Work with Operations Leaders to understand daily staffing needs and receive approval for staffing plans.
  • Build staffing plans to run all production lines every shift and support preventive maintenance activities.
  • Post overtime sign-ups for opposing shifts.
  • Ensure each spot is filled by a qualified associate.
  • Send automated requests to pull in overtime volunteers for scheduled and urgent overtime needs.
  • Manage shift-swapping between associates in each pay period.
  • Learn new software to help improve efficiency of scheduling.
  • Maintain an open line of communication to ensure staffing problems/changes are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Maintain records and documents as required.
  • Ensure employee scheduling is aligned with the training matrix.
  • Comply with all local, state, federal, and client safety regulations, policies, and procedures including RCRA Hazardous Waste regulations.
  • Comply with all local client quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or 1 year of consecutive work experience.
  • Experience supporting the scheduling for a production operation preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, and Teams).
  • Experience with ADP or Workday is a plus, but not required.

Schedule

Part-time, Sunday–Thursday, 5 PM–10 PM.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to stand and/or occasionally sit for extended periods.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, and reaching.
