About the role

You will manage documents, assist with scheduling, coordinate communications, and provide professional customer service to staff and residents. Requirements
Education & Experience
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience: Five (5) years of increasingly responsible office administrative or secretarial experience
- Desired Experience: Previous municipal or local government experience
Pay
This position is FLSA Non-Exempt, eligible for overtime compensation.

Confidential Employees City Paid Benefits (per City Council Resolution Governing Compensation and Benefits of Non-Represented Confidential Group Employees):
- Retirement: California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS). City does not participate in Social Security; City pays employee's mandatory Medicare contribution. Two retirement formulas based on CalPERS membership status:
- 2.7% @ 55 (miscellaneous) or 3% @ 50 (safety), single highest year — for employees hired before January 1, 2013 and current CalPERS members with no significant break
- 2% @ 62 (miscellaneous) or 2.7% @ 57 (safety), three-year average — for those with a significant break or no prior CalPERS/reciprocal membership
- All employees hired on or after January 1, 2013 subject to PEPRA review
- Annual Leave & Holidays: Annual Leave accrued per Confidential Resolution (biweekly posting). 13 paid holidays (130 hours) per calendar year.
- In Lieu Leave: Executive leave for exempt Confidential Group employees — 80 hours per fiscal year regardless of work schedule.
- Deferred Compensation (457) Plan: Voluntary salary deferrals to Nationwide plan. City matching contribution up to $1,900 per calendar year (quarterly). Tier II employees receive additional $150 per quarter.
- Retired Health Savings: Tier II employees — $250 per quarter deposited into Nationwide Retirement Health Savings Account.
- Bilingual Pay: $322.50 per month for speaking an alternative language in the course of employment.
- Longevity Pay:
- After 5 years: $1,400 annually
- After 10 years: $1,600 annually
- After 15 years: $1,800 annually
- After 20 years: $2,000 annually
- Medical Insurance: Kaiser and Blue Shield HMO plans; several Anthem Blue Cross PPO plans through CalPERS. City provides Medical Allowance:
- Base Contribution Rate plus difference up to: $978/month (employee only), $1,956/month (employee + 1), $2,579/month (employee + 2 or more)
- In lieu option: Cafeteria Plan allocation — $600 (employee + 2+), $400 (employee + 1), $200 (employee only)
- Dental Insurance: HMO and PPO through Delta Dental (premiums paid by employee).
- Vision Insurance: Through Eye Med (premiums paid by employee).
- Flexible Spending Account: Medical reimbursement or dependent care account with pre-tax dollars (offered at hire and open enrollment).
- Disability Insurance: Short-term and long-term provided free to each employee.
- Life Insurance: Term policy equal to 5.5 times annual basic earnings (max $750,000). Retiree policy $50,000 until age 70.
- Employee Assistance and Counseling Program: Comprehensive program for employees and family members.
- Tuition Reimbursement: Up to CSU fee schedule per semester, lifetime maximum $10,000 per employee (for plans approved on/after November 14, 2017).

The Organization: The City of Corona is a General Law city operating under a Council-Manager form of government. The City Council consists of a Mayor and four Council Members elected by district to four-year terms; the Mayor is selected by the Council for a one-year term. The City is organized into the following departments: Community Services, City Manager's Office, Economic Development, Finance, Fire, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal and Risk Management, Police, Planning & Development, Public Works, and Utilities. Oversight is divided between the City Manager and an Assistant City Manager. The total operating budget for Fiscal Year 2026 is $422.7 million with a General Fund operating budget of $231.3 million.
