Administrative Assistant
About the Role
At Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, you'll be part of a 357-bed, not-for-profit Level II Trauma Center that has served the Santa Clarita Valley since 1975. As an Administrative Assistant, you will coordinate and communicate with Administration, physicians, management, staff, and external agencies to facilitate department and hospital strategic goals. Your role includes generating reports, tracking compliance, and providing administrative and clerical support to department Directors.
You’ll work alongside an award-winning team delivering advanced medical services, including:
- Comprehensive heart and vascular care
- Advanced stroke treatment
- Cancer care in partnership with Keck Medicine of USC
- Women’s imaging and breast health services
- Emergency and trauma care
- Cardiac rehabilitation and wellness programs
As part of Los Angeles County’s STEMI receiving network, the hospital provides lifesaving cardiac intervention through the state-of-the-art Roberta G. Veloz Cardiac Cath Lab.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and communicate with Administration, physicians, management, staff, and external agencies to support department and hospital goals
- Generate reports and track compliance according to director’s requirements
- Provide administrative and clerical support to department Directors
Requirements
- High School Diploma (GED) required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Two to three years of experience performing administrative and secretarial support to healthcare management
- Professional demeanor
Skills
- Ability to exercise good judgment and prioritize tasks
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Typing speed of at least 60 wpm
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel)
Pay
Opening pay range: $23.69 to $35.53 per hour.
