Responsibilities
- Own and optimize the Lead Pastor's calendar
- Prioritize appointments based on mission and impact
- Ensure appropriate preparation and recovery time
- Protect time for sermon preparation and strategic work
- Triage email, messages, and incoming requests
- Draft responses on behalf of the Lead Pastor
- Filter and escalate critical communication
- Track key conversations and follow-ups
- Prepare agendas and supporting materials
- Take notes and track action items
- Ensure accountability and follow-through
- Maintain leadership meeting rhythms
- Track ministry priorities and strategic initiatives
- Maintain dashboards or tracking systems
- Follow up with staff on progress
- Identify bottlenecks and proactively resolve them
- Aid in travel planning and scheduling
- Manage select personal logistics
- Reduce administrative burden on the Lead Pastor
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Understanding of church/ministry operations
- Familiarity with leadership support functions
- Knowledge of project and workflow management principles
- Familiarity or interest in AI tools
- Experience supporting a senior leader or executive
- Experience in administrative, operations, or project coordination
- Experience in a church or nonprofit environment
