Department
- Alfred Pathology Service (APS)
- 5 units: Anatomical Pathology, Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology, Microbiology and Human Molecular Pathology
- Core laboratory at The Alfred and a small local laboratory at Sandringham hospital
- Several collection centres responsible for specimen collection of about 50% of samples
- Partnership with Monash Health to deliver a Shared Pathology Service
Position Summary
To provide confidential telephone/switchboard and reception services, sort and despatch test reports, text entry, scanning in documentation, patient reports (ECG), filing, photocopying and other duties associated with the general administrative support of the Alfred Pathology Service.
Receive visitors and patients at CSP and outpatient specimen collection counters.
Book outpatient pathology appointments in the scheduling software.
Archive database management – slip storage, organisation and management
Print labels for various departments and request pads for various hospital units etc.
Sort and deliver departmental mail (internal and outbound reports).
Register and process patient requests in CSP.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Essential: Successful completion of VCE schooling
- Desirable: Experience in clerical, receptionist or switchboard skills or equivalent
- Experience with iPM and Cerner applications
- Appropriate diploma related to health administration
- Understanding of medical terminology
