Responsibilities

  • Expedites non-routine purchases for departments as delegated.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies.
  • Trains others using verbal and written communication.
  • Performs more complex scheduling of providers, staff, facilities, home care and/or patients.
  • Captures and maintains basic financial records.
  • Prepares and maintains complex forms, reports, presentations and other documents.
  • Creates, proofreads or edits correspondence and documents for internal and external circulation.
  • Procures and files records, researches lost or missing records, and posts information to records or ledgers.
  • Checks records to verify accuracy and compliance with rules and procedures.
  • Serves as a second level of response to customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Registers patients and completes encounter forms.
  • Collects patient payments and insurance information and makes proper referrals to financial departments.
  • Verifies eligibility with insurance companies.
  • Represents UNCHCS with internal and/or external entities.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • No licensure or certification required.
  • One (1) year of clerical or administrative experience.
