Adjunctive Therapist- Full-Time

Join our collaborative team at Aurora Behavioral Health System (ABHS) in Tempe, AZ. We are a freestanding psychiatric hospital offering inpatient and outpatient programs for adolescents and adults dealing with psychiatric conditions and chemical dependency.

Responsibilities

• Develop, organize, and implement comprehensive adjunctive therapy groups.
• Provide therapeutic interventions for adolescent and adult patients.
• Interact with patients during daily routine activities consistent with principles of normal growth and development.
• Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary treatment team.

Requirements

• Certification from an accredited organization in creative arts/expressive therapy or recreational/leisure therapy (e.g., MT-BC, CTRS, ATR). Other nationally accepted certifications will be considered.
• Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or another license-eligible master’s degree (e.g., LPC, LCSW).
• Knowledge of psychiatric and addictive disease diagnoses and treatment.
• Excellent communication, assessment, evaluation, and interpretation skills.
• Must be 21 years of age and qualify for fingerprint clearance.
• CPR and Therapeutic Options (TO) certification required within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare field, preferably in inpatient psychiatric settings.
• Certification or expertise in Yoga, Yoga Therapy, Tai Chi, or Qigong.
• Understanding of DSM-5 methodology.
