About the role

Worcester Polytechnic Institute invites applications for the part-time position of Adjunct Teaching Faculty. Part-time faculty positions are created to provide an available applicant pool for the department. Positions will be filled on an as needed basis. Start dates will vary by course and semester.

Responsibilities

• Teaching from established curriculum but with addition of personal expertise and experience
• Providing students with timely feedback
• Grading

Requirements

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required
• Prior experience teaching college-level courses required
• Significant practical experience in the relevant area
• Successful undergraduate or graduate teaching experience

Qualifications

• PhD in related discipline preferred
• Experience with online teaching and the Canvas learning management system preferred but not required
• Ability to teach in other areas is valued

Pay

$7,500–$10,000 per course
