Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintain an organized, safe, and stable learning environment.
- Deliver instruction using effective teaching methods and supervision principles.
- Utilize in-class assessment tools and techniques to measure student achievement of course competencies.
- Administer and proctor tests for students and outside organizations.
- Record and submit grades and attendance (including tardiness and absences) daily using Banner.
- Distribute course syllabus at the beginning of each class, outlining competencies, grading procedures, attendance policies, and other essential information.
- Provide guidance to students regarding course progress, academic concerns, and disciplinary issues.
- Cookordination disciplinary matters with administration and the Student Services Coordinator.
- Monitor and request necessary program supplies; make recommendations for instructional materials.
- Adhere to the school calendar and daily class schedule; start and end classes on time.
- Conduct student surveys each trimester and participate in scheduled staff climate surveys.
- Check and respond to emails twice daily.
- Cookordinate absences with the VP of Operations to align with student breaks.
- Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (HiSET acceptable).
- Work experience in the area being taught. Minimum of 3 years of approved work experience in the occupation preferred.
- Technical teaching experience preferred.
- Associate degree, Bachelor’s degree, or diploma from an accredited technical training program in the related field is a plus.
- Knowledge of Safety Data Sheet (SDS) labeling and policy a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer applications required for teaching.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written).
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, industry partners, and the public.
- Ability to exercise good judgment, plan and direct work, and express ideas clearly and concisely.
- Physically able to lift up to 30 lbs. and move around the teaching area to demonstrate and perform occupational tasks (with or without accommodation).
- Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism and tact in all interactions.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred.
