Adjunct - Spanish

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach lecture and language lab components of various level Spanish courses.
• Utilize Rock Valley College’s chosen Learning Management System (LMS) for all grading, assignments, communication and student records.
• Plan course content and assign appropriate course work.
• Select appropriate texts and teaching materials.
• Meet classes at assigned times.
• Provide availability for students interaction before and after class (1 hour weekly minimum, per 3 credit hour).
• Participate in assessment of student learning.
• Maintain student records, evaluate student progress, and assign grades.
• Prepare course/class reports as required.
• Attend required meetings (faculty, division, in-service training, etc.).
• Keep informed on the latest research and journal articles.
• Adhere to Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and any and policies or laws that govern higher education at Rock Valley College.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Spanish.
• Educational beyond the Master’s level is desirable, a Ph.D. is preferred.
• Teaching experience in college-level courses is preferred.
• Commitment to the community college mission.
• Interest in involvement in division and college initiatives.
