About the Role
Grand Canyon University invites applications for PRN Adjunct Clinical Nursing faculty members. This position requires travel within the Metro Phoenix area to directly observe student performance during clinical rotations.
Responsibilities
- Reinforce didactic content, teaching the knowledge and skills needed for pre-licensure nursing
- Collaborate with content area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress toward clinical objectives
- Participate in grading written and clinical performance check-offs
- Remain current with new trends and developments in the specific field of nursing practice
- Maintain compliance with requirements for program accreditation
- Uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession as well as the pillars of the University
- Travel to GCU student sites to directly observe student performance
- Participate in and/or support the university program in all areas, including congruence with the philosophy and direction of the institution, and service to the community
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission
Requirements
- BSN required. BSNs must enroll in a GCU MSN Leadership or MSN Education program immediately upon hire (paid for by GCU), or BSN with proof of at least 9 credits/3 classes in any graduate program, or approved national certification related to the content area being taught. Specify graduate credits or national certification on your resume.
- 3 years' recent clinical work experience in Population Health, Public Health, or Community Health nursing with a BSN
- Experience outside of the traditional hospital setting (clinics, Veterans health, home health, public health nursing)
- Active, current, unencumbered, and multi-state (compact) RN license
- Must successfully pass a drug test and competency testing
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students
