Adjunct RN Faculty - PRN Utah Psychiatric – Nursing

About the Role

Grand Canyon University is seeking enthusiastic Adjunct Clinical and Lab Nursing faculty members to share their knowledge with our Nursing students. This adjunct PRN position involves travel within the Salt Lake City, Utah area to directly observe student performance during scheduled clinical rotations and labs.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce didactic content, teaching the knowledge and skills needed for pre-licensure nursing
• Collaborate with content area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress toward clinical objectives
• Participate in grading written and clinical performance check-offs
• Remain current with new trends and developments in the specific field of nursing practice
• Maintain compliance with requirements for program accreditation
• Uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession as well as the pillars of the University
• Travel to GCU student sites to directly observe student performance
• Participate in and/or support the university program in all areas, including alignment with the philosophy and direction of the institution and service to the community
• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission

Requirements

• BSN (required); MSN (preferred)
• BSNs must enroll in a GCU MSN Leadership or MSN Education program immediately upon hire (paid for by GCU), or provide proof of at least 9 credits/3 classes in any graduate program, or hold an approved national certification related to the content area being taught
• Minimum of 3 years’ recent work experience in direct care with Pediatric nursing (with a BSN)
• Active, current, unencumbered, and multi-state (compact) RN license
• Must successfully pass a drug test and competency testing
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students
