Adjunct RN Faculty - PRN Sun City Med/Surg or Critical Care Clinical/Lab – Nursing

Responsibilities

• Reinforce didactic content, teaching the knowledge and skills needed for pre-licensure nursing
• Collaborate with content area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress toward clinical objectives
• Participate in grading written and clinical performance check-offs
• Remain current with new trends and development in the specific field of nursing practice
• Maintain compliance with requirements for program accreditation
• Uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession as well as the pillars of the University
• Travel to GCU student sites, directly observing student performance
• Participate in and/or support of the university program in all areas including an evident congruence with the philosophy and direction of the institution, and service to the community
• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University

Requirements

• BSN with proof of at least 9 credits/3 classes in any graduate program OR approved national certification related to the content area being taught. Please specify your graduate credits OR national certification on your resume.
• Minimum of 3 years’ recent work experience in Med/Surg or Critical Care nursing with a BSN
• Must be willing to teach clinicals at Banner Del Webb Medical Center, Banner Boswell Medical Center, Banner Estrella, and Banner Thunderbird
• Must be willing to go to Boswell Campus for Labs at 10484 W Thunderbird Road, Suite 102, Sun City, AZ 85351 (104th Ave and Thunderbird)
• An active, current, unencumbered, and multi-state (compact) RN license
• Successfully pass a drug test and competency testing
• Excellent communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with students
