About the role
Grand Canyon University is seeking Adjunct Clinical Nursing faculty members to share their expertise with Nursing students.
Responsibilities
- Reinforce didactic content, teaching the knowledge and skills needed for pre-licensure nursing
- Collaborate with content area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress toward clinical objectives
- Participate in grading written and clinical performance check-offs
- Remain current with new trends and development in the specific field of nursing practice
- Maintain compliance with requirements for program accreditation
- Uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession as well as the pillars of the University
- Travel to GCU student sites, directly observing student performance
- Participate in and/or support of the university program in all areas including an evident congruence with the philosophy and direction of the institution, and service to the community
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University
Requirements
- Preferred: Masters (or higher) in Nursing
- 2 years of recent direct patient care nursing experience in Medical-Surgical nursing.
- Minimum Bachelor's in nursing AND 3 years of recent direct patient care nursing experience in Medical-Surgical nursing AND enrolled in a graduate program
- OR hold relevant national certification for the clinical area in which they teach.
- Nurses must possess an active, current, unencumbered, and unrestricted AZ or multi-state RN license.
- Must successfully pass a drug test and competency testing
