About the Role
Grand Canyon University is seeking Adjunct Clinical Nursing faculty members to share their expertise with our Nursing students. This position involves traveling within the Tucson, AZ area to observe and evaluate student performance during clinical rotations.
Responsibilities
- Reinforce didactic content, teaching the knowledge and skills needed for pre-licensure nursing
- Collaborate with content area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress toward clinical objectives
- Participate in grading written and clinical performance checkoffs
- Remain current with new trends and developments in the specific field of nursing practice
- Maintain compliance with requirements for program accreditation
- Uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession as well as the pillars of the University
- Travel to GCU student sites to directly observe student performance
- Participate in and/or support the university program in all areas, including alignment with the philosophy and direction of the institution, and service to the community
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission
Requirements
- Preferred: Master’s (or higher) in Nursing
- Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Nursing AND 3 years of recent direct Critical Care nursing experience AND enrolled in a graduate program
- OR hold relevant national certification for the clinical area in which they teach
- Active, current, unencumbered, and unrestricted AZ or multi-state RN license
- Active, current, unencumbered, and multi-state (compact) RN license
- Must successfully pass a drug test and competency testing
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students
