About the role

The Leventhal School of Accounting in the Marshall School of Business is seeking a part-time faculty member to teach a course on tax technology. The ideal candidate will have experience utilizing technology in real-world settings and be able to apply that knowledge in the classroom to provide hands-on learning experiences for students.

Responsibilities

  • Cover topics such as tax data preparation and transformation (Alteryx, Excel), data visualization and analytics (Tableau, Power BI), quantitative modeling (Solver in Excel, Regression Models), machine learning and AI (Accordance), tax technology infrastructure (ERP).
  • Teach up to 3 courses per semester, ideally 2.
  • Indicate preferences or limitations for teaching evening, daytime, on-campus, and online courses in the letter of application.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (Ph.D., J.D., Master’s in accounting, taxation, finance, or business administration, LL.M. in taxation, etc.)
  • Manager or executive-level experience in public accounting and/or private industry
  • Relevant experience teaching at the college/university level
  • Current CPA or CMA licensure (favorable)
  • CFA charter or other relevant professional accreditations
  • Completed the AACSB Bridge Program (http://aacsb.edu/bridge) (preferred)
