Adjunct Professor - Heavy Equipment Operator
Job Responsibilities
Provide instruction for the Heavy Equipment Technology program. Instructors will teach students the fundamentals of operation and safety using the following Caterpillar simulators: Bulldozer, Excavator, Motor Grader, Front Wheel Loader, Backhoe Loader and Skid-Steer Loader.
Maintains a high level of excellence in teaching by communicating and interacting effectively with students enrolled in courses within the program area.
- Prepares materials needed for instruction and ensures the readiness of facilities for class activities;
- Evaluation and reporting of students’ progress;
- Assigning and assisting students on class projects;
- Creating and delivering lecture demonstrations.
Keep student records and adheres to course schedules.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
- At least three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator Technician, one (1) year of supervisory or training experience.
- Must have basic computer experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Heavy Equipment/Diesel Technology or related field.
- At least five (5) years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator Technician or Trainer.
Additional Comments
Adjunct faculty are compensated in accordance with Midlands Technical College’s established pay schedule. The standard adjunct pay rate is $62.50 per hour. Final compensation may vary depending on academic credentials and total course credit hours. Any variation is determined upon hire and outlined in the faculty employment agreement.
