Adjunct Professor for MBA - Global Finance - on campus

About the role

We are seeking highly qualified adjunct faculty members to teach on-campus courses in the Master’s in Business Administration program. The module aims to enable students to understand, analyze, and critically examine the purpose, principles, and fundamental concepts of today’s financial markets, instruments, and institutions, with particular emphasis on banking and its evolving role as both an intermediary and a provider of financial services. The course situates these institutions within the context of globalization, international trade, and the financial industry.

Course Outcomes

• Demonstrate understanding of financial statements through discussions of working capital, cash conversion cycle, and cash management policy.
• Distinguish the different banking business models and fintech, differentiating traditional banking methods from financial technology applications.
• Develop financial strategies that include financial instruments, using derivatives as a means of reducing financial risks.

Requirements

• Possess a doctoral or terminal degree (Ph.D., D.Sc., or equivalent) in Finance or Business with Finance credits or a closely related field from a properly accredited institution.
• Proven experience teaching in higher education, with familiarity in using Canvas as a Learning Management System (LMS).
• Ability to teach online.
• Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
• Work permit in the USA.
• On-site presence at our downtown Miami campus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in curriculum development and instructional design for the courses to be taught.
• Hands-on industry experience in Finance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction in accordance with the university’s curriculum.
• Utilize Canvas LMS to facilitate course materials, assignments, and student engagement.
• Assess and evaluate student learning outcomes.
• Provide mentorship and academic support to students.
• Maintain academic and professional integrity in teaching and research.
• Assist and conduct classes according to the weekly on-campus schedule.
• Teach assigned graduate courses and accurately track all students’ questions, assignments, and grades.
• Review and update syllabus and all materials related to the assigned course.
• Elaborate and submit grading reports on a timely basis.
• Participate as a jury member for Capstone dissertations at the end of the semester.
• Engage in faculty training, activities, and meetings.
• Follow MIU’s Educational Model for hybrid education.
