Adjunct Pool - GSOP - Non-Instructional

Basic Function

The Non-Instructional Adjunct would assist with program-related needs, such as conducting interviews with graduate students applying to a Graduate School of Psychology program or assisting with other program tasks.

Representative Duties

• Review student application files.
• Meet and interview graduate students.
• Evaluate students.
• Provide feedback to faculty about interviews and suitability of the student for entry into a graduate program.

Knowledge

• Current theory and practice within the subject discipline.
• Principles and best practices of effective teaching.

Skills

• Thorough and accurate knowledge of the subject field or discipline.
• Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, social, economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of University students.
• Sensitivity to and understanding of the needs of students with disabilities.
• Maintain professional standards that protect student confidentiality.
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing using tact, patience, and courtesy.

Minimum Qualifications

• Possession of a master's degree from a graduate institution of recognized standing or equivalent experience and professional recognition.
• Practice in providing clinical services as an MFT or Psychologist.

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in a discipline related to either MFT or psychology.

Physical Abilities

• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment.
• Speaking to exchange information, provide instruction and make presentations.
• Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
• Pushing, pulling or lifting light objects.
• Bending and reaching to store and/or retrieve files.

Working Environment

• Indoor classroom environment.
• Subject to visiting a variety of classroom sites on campus.

Hiring Range

$32.00-$39.50/hour
