Description of Key Responsibilities
Note that all functions described below must be performed, and it is normally the responsibility of the individual in this position to perform them and/or see that they are performed. Enact best-practices in nursing education. Model critical and reflective thinking and foster the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective development of learners. Be available for office hours to support student success. Provide timely, constructive and thoughtful feedback to learners. Demonstrate professional and educational values and legal/ethical precepts in interactions. Exhibit a spirit of inquiry about teaching and learning, student development, evaluation methods, and other aspects of the role. Use current research findings and scholarly works in nursing to improve nursing education and practice. Maintain clinical certification, licensure.
Qualification Standards
- Required Qualifications: MSN or MS in Nursing degree from an accredited institution is required. A terminal degree (PhD, EdD, DNP) is preferred. Active Illinois RN license. Certified FNP or PMHNP for is required for Nurse Practitioner specific courses. Certified Nurse Educator preferred. Experience: Prior teaching experience in graduate nursing education· Experience with technology/course management systems (e.g. CANVAS)
