About the Role

Under the direction of the Dean and Program Director, the Adjunct Faculty Member is responsible for providing academic instruction to students in the Clinical Psychology Masters Program. This role involves teaching graduate-level courses and supporting student development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide academic instruction through lectures, labs, or performance courses, assessing and developing students’ cognitive abilities, communication skills, and higher-order thinking via assignments and activities in classroom, one-on-one, and distance-mediated settings.
  • Advise and instruct students on programs of study, lifelong learning resources, and effective study skills; refer students to support services, programs, or other professionals as needed.
  • Observe and evaluate student performance in meeting course objectives and learning outcomes through assignments, projects, discussions, and examinations; provide timely feedback to student inquiries.
  • Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes, aligning with departmental and university mission/goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of course enrollment, attendance, student academic progress, and learning outcomes; submit data and reports related to course and student progress in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate and select instructional materials (e.g., textbooks, software) in collaboration with discipline faculty; order materials according to campus bookstore procedures to ensure timely delivery.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology or a related field from an accredited institution (or equivalent experience and professional recognition).
  • Thorough and accurate knowledge of current theory and practice within the subject discipline.
  • Ability to deliver course curricula using diverse learning styles and instructional technologies.
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, social, economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of university students, including those with disabilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with tact, patience, and courtesy.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional standards and student confidentiality.

Skills

  • Principles and best practices of effective teaching.
  • Integration of instructional delivery technologies to enhance teaching and the educational experience.

Pay

$32–$34.50 per hour.

Working Environment

  • Indoor classroom environment; may require visiting various classroom sites on campus.
  • Physical demands include manual dexterity for operating office equipment, extended periods of sitting or standing, and occasional lifting of light objects.
