Job Summary
Adjunct faculty may teach 1 to 2 courses per semester. The candidate will be capable of teaching various levels of the undergraduate program, be proficient in traditional techniques, and have a broad understanding of new approaches to Photography. The interdisciplinary nature of the program requires that faculty maintain an active professional practice and meaningfully contribute to a variety of areas.
Responsibilities
- Teach required number of credit hours per quarter based on their contract.
- Teach studio, lecture, and/or practicum courses per their contract.
- Plan and provide instructional experiences that reflect an understanding of the philosophy, objectives, and curriculum of the program.
- Evaluate student achievement of curricular objectives/outcomes.
- Maintain communication with the program director regarding any course or student issues.
- Perform other similar duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Photography.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience.
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Capture One and Lightroom.
- Ability to teach evenings and/or weekends as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience.
- Advanced Degree(s).
- Ability to teach online/remote classes.
- Ability to develop new coursework.
