Adjunct - Nutrition

About the role

Kirkwood Linn County Regional Center in Hiawatha, IA and Kirkwood Regional Center at the University of Iowa in Coralville, IA are seeking adjuncts to teach BIO-151 Nutrition.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face instruction in discipline
• Work with other faculty members to develop a course syllabus and consistent assessments
• Communicate with department staff, students, and faculty on a regular basis
• Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback on a regular basis
• Utilize the Kirkwood Learning Management System to post course syllabi and relevant documents and provide access to the student grade book
• Regularly engage in professional development activities and actively seek information about developing trends and ideas
• Perform other related work duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with at least 12 graduate credits in nutrition-related content, including coursework specifically in nutrition
• Previous experience in face-to-face instruction at a community college
• Prior use of a learning management system

Benefits

The position is a temporary, part-time position scheduled intermittently based on institutional need. Adjuncts are not guaranteed work in any semester and are notified of course assignments prior to each term as courses become available.

Schedule

• Fall 2026 Kirkwood Regional Center at the University of Iowa (at Coralville): 7:30 – 9:00 am Tuesday/Thursday August 25 th – December 11 th
• Section 1 Kirkwood Linn County Regional: Will be hiring two adjuncts for two different sections. 7:30 – 9:00 am Tuesday/Thursday August 25 th – December 11 th
• Section 2 12:30 – 2:00 pm Tuesday/Thursday August 25 th – December 11 th

Pay

$1,314 per credit hour
