Adjunct Nursing - MSN NP

About the Role

The Adjunct Faculty for the Nurse Practitioner Program facilitates online nursing courses that meet the quality and standards set by accrediting bodies and American Sentinel University, under the guidance of the Program Chair and Dean.

This position collaborates with the Program Chair, Clinical Coordinator, Assistant Dean, and Dean of Nursing and Healthcare Programs to maintain curriculum integrity, promote student learning, and foster a rich online environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain course integrity and review/revise courses as assigned.
• Respond to all student communications within two business days.
• Review posts and replies promptly and promote discussion board participation.
• Monitor student attendance and progress, taking corrective action as needed.
• Provide substantial, prompt feedback on assignments contributing to the final grade.
• Grade all assignments and weekly discussion posts/replies on time.
• Encourage students to complete course evaluations at the end of the term.
• Participate in research and scholarly projects.
• Engage actively as part of the American Sentinel team, attending meetings and participating in committees.
• Contribute to accreditation activities as needed.
• Assist with monitoring and coordination of student precepted practicum experiences.
• Maintain active RN/APRN state licensure as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean, Assistant Dean, or NP Program Chair.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in nursing or a related field.
• Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution with certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP), and/or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
• Unencumbered Registered Nursing License and advanced practice nursing license.
• Clinical nursing experience in a specific population.
• Two years of teaching experience in a college or university setting, with evidence of scholarly work.
