Rate or rates of pay
- Undergraduate courses: $1,020 per credit
- After 40 credits within a five-year period: $1,112 per credit
- Graduate courses: $1,352 per credit
Job Summary
The College of St. Scholastica has an opening for adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate introductory and intermediate courses in Ojibwe language and culture. Applicants with proven teaching skills at the college level are encouraged to apply.
Key Results/Responsibilities
- Teach beginning and intermediate Ojibwe language
- Create an advanced course in the language if possible
- Teach additional courses in Native Studies if applicable
Required Qualifications
- Hold an M.A. in Ojibwe language, culture studies, a related field, or equivalent experience
- Native or near-native fluency in Ojibwemowin and English
- Possibly specialize in Education, Native American Studies, or Indigenous Art and Music
- Have teaching experience and demonstrate a dedication to working with diverse communities, especially tribal communities
- Have first-hand knowledge of traditional belief systems in Ojibwe communities (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D./Ed.D. (preferred) in Ojibwemowin, Linguistics, or a closely related field
- Experience teaching in higher education
