Adjunct Music Instructor- Percussion
Role
The Adjunct Music Instructor-Percussion teaches percussion lessons and provides assistance and academic advising to percussion students outside of class. They also teach other music courses as available.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Teaches private percussion lessons as assigned by departmental chair. (55%)
Uses appropriate technology for lesson communication. (10%)
Stays current in both the professional field and current teaching/learning best practices. (10%)
Works as a team member in the Fine Arts Department. (10%)
Contributes to department assessment process by measuring and reporting student learning outcomes as directed to meet THECB Core Objectives and SACSCOC requirements. (5%)
Complies with the faculty responsibilities as related in the Faculty Handbook and the Board Policy and Procedures Manual. (5%)
Qualifications
A Master's degree or higher in music from an accredited college or university is required.
The candidate must be able to meet face-to-face lessons on the Denison, TX campus during our sixteen-week term.
One to two years of related experience is required.
Previous successful experience teaching voice in a high school, university, and/or community college is required, along with demonstrated ability to engage students in the learning process.
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
