About the role
The Pasadena City College seeks applications for an Adjunct Mental Health Therapist in the Eligibility Pool. This position is part-time and located in Pasadena, CA.
Responsibilities
- Create a welcoming classroom culture that positively engages and impacts diverse student populations.
- Work with students from various backgrounds, including African-American/Black, Latino/a/x, LGBTQ, individuals on the Autism spectrum, or those experiencing trauma.
- Provide therapy in a brief setting, with crisis management and consultation, and offer psychoeducational outreach.
- Supervise unlicensed clinicians and provide supervision to students pursuing counseling credentials.
- Contribute to college-wide governance and the decision-making process.
Requirements
- California Community College Counselor Credential; OR
- Master's degree in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, or career development, marriage and family therapy, or marriage, family and child.
- Experience as a mental health clinician, preferably in a college setting.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and provide supervision to unlicensed clinicians.
- Background in working with underserved populations, including experience with African-American/Black, Latino/a/x, LGBTQ, individuals on the Autism spectrum, or those experiencing trauma.
- Experience working in a college counseling center.
Qualifications
- Desirable qualifications include an LMFT/LCSW degree, licensure in the State of California, and experience working in a college setting.

Schedule
Adjunct faculty must be available to teach Monday through Friday (day and evening), as well as Saturday classes.
