Adjunct Lecturer of Interpreter Education-1
Summary of Job Duties
Adjunct Faculty to teach American Sign Language or interpreter training courses at the post-secondary level for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. This position will be responsible for teaching course(s) in-class, assessing student-submitted work, and following the course objectives and syllabus prepared for the course. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
Qualifications Required
- Education and/or Experience:
- Master’s degree in ASL, Interpreting, or other related fields;
- Native or native-like competency in ASL.
- Preferred Education And/or Experience:
- Experience teaching in-class and online.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Knowledge of classroom instruction;
- Ability to manage, motivate, and evaluate a diverse population of students;
- Cordial and collegial attitude toward interaction with colleagues, students, and staff;
- Demonstrable content knowledge of American Sign Language and Deaf Culture and closely related fields and the ties between the field and various allied disciplines;
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills;
- Self-motivated, responsible, and able to work with minimal direct supervision.

- Teach assigned courses;

- Follow course objectives and syllabus;
- Commit to teaching the entire university semester;
- Participate as a part of the IEP faculty team.
