- A master’s degree in History is required.
- Candidates must have the ability to use or willingness to learn course management and delivery software such as Blackboard and Zoom.
- A Ph.D. in History and experience teaching the subject are preferred, but not required.
- The ability to deliver courses in a variety of formats (including hybrid and online) is desirable.
Responsibilities
Adjunct lecturers are responsible for delivering high-quality lectures, assignments, and assessments to students enrolled in History courses. They are expected to maintain regular office hours, participate in departmental meetings, and collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development.

- Salary range for the 2025–26 academic year: $7,225.00 per course for standard courses, and $9,333.00 per course for courses with labs and other four-credit courses.
Pay
Compensation for adjunct faculty is governed by the collective bargaining agreement between Bentley University and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 509. For the 2025–26 academic year, adjunct faculty are compensated at a rate of $7,225.00 per course. Courses with labs and other four-credit courses shall be compensated at a higher minimum rate of $9,333.00 per course.
Schedule
Adjunct lecturers are expected to teach one or more courses each semester, typically ranging from 4 to 8 credits.
