Adjunct Instructors in Environmental Investigations

About the role

Unity Environmental University Distance Education is seeking enthusiastic individuals to teach courses for our online baccalaureate degree programs. Courses are online and run for five weeks in eight terms for baccalaureate programs.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate engagement in 5-week undergraduate-level courses in environmental criminology, cybercrime, digital forensics, and/or related courses.
• Teach courses asynchronously with an average of 20 students per course.
• Meet expectations for timely feedback, engagement in Discussion Board tasks, and responsiveness to students.

Requirements

• Terminal degree/PhD or Master’s degree with work experience in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Digital Forensics, Cybersecurity, Environmental Management (with law enforcement experience), or a closely related field.
• Ability to efficiently operate a personal computer and associated software (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately using e-mail and digital conferencing tools.
• Personal commitment to the environmental focus and mission of the college.

Skills

• Experience teaching adult learners and/or teaching in an online context.
• Experience using Canvas or other Learning Management System to facilitate learning.

Pay

Adjunct faculty are compensated at a rate of $47 per student credit hour. Baccalaureate courses are delivered in five-week terms, and compensation for each course section is based on the number of student credit hours generated by enrolled students in that section.

Location

Unity Environmental University's Distance Education curriculum is 100% online. Adjuncts will teach remotely and must reside within the United States for the entire duration of the academic term in which they are teaching. It is the responsibility of the adjunct to ensure that they are working in a state that aligns with the tax information reported to HR.
