Adjunct Instructor, Urban and Regional Planning
About the role
The Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the School of Architecture and Planning at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York (SUNY), invites candidates for an Adjunct Instructor who can enthusiastically inspire and engage urban planning and architecture students to learn by doing at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates should have the ability to teach seated or online courses in architecture, planning or design-related disciplines or conduct research/service in support of the mission and vision of the school.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of urban and regional planning
- Provides students with appropriate learning materials and expertise in subject area
- Evaluates students’ performance and provides effective feedback to guide student learning and success
- Contributes to and maintains an inclusive and collaborative environment
- Conducts research or service in support of the mission and vision of the school
Requirements
- Master’s degree in urban planning or related field
- PhD preferred for doctoral-level courses
Qualifications
Candidates should demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and a commitment to excellence in urban planning education. Experience in higher education is preferred.
Skills
Strong communication skills, ability to work collaboratively, and proficiency in using educational technology tools.
